Your tallow balm crafters - Jane and Ben - from Bright VIC bring you skincare from the incredible Victorian Alpine Region.

We are passionate about only delivering the highest quality Certified Organic ingredients to our discerning customers.

You'll most likely interact with Jane in your tallow dealings. Ben is usually in the kitchen where he is the tallow perfectionist.

We'd like to introduce our values by asking: What IS skin care?

You may expect us to say tallow is the answer. To make such a claim is simply not true.

If you’re healthy inside, it shows in the skin.

In our (advancing!) collective years we have learnt a few things.

We both dabbled in naturopathy studies as youngsters and are extremely passionate about healthy cooking.

Ben excels in the garden and kitchen. Ferments are just one of his many talents.

Jane was a Registered Nurse for over 20 years and observed first-hand the results of health neglect. She has also studied functional nutrition and consolidated a passion for making healthy choices.

We are fortunate to share a unified vision - health is our fundamental value. Healthy insides lead to healthy outsides, and we believe tallow balm can support your outside on your journey to inner health by reducing the toxic load your insides have to handle.

Clean water, the organic vegie patch, a morning stretch, meditation, a spot in the sun or dip in the river is de rigueur at our place. A strong connection to this - good health requires simple instructions.

Why are we so passionate about Tallow?

When Ben developed a challenging skin issue over the hot 2022 summer we became extremely vigilant.

With a history of dry skin requiring strict maintenance and vulnerability to Staph. infections we were on high alert.

We hit the books and Weston A Price came through!

We struck gold and realised our answer was in the freezer! The suet we'd been gifted (but were unsure how to use) was it.

Our first render had the dogs circling, but it still helped -Ben's angry, raised rash was less inflamed within 12 hours.

We got excited - and a little bit emotional.

We threw out the steroid cream Ben had reluctantly purchased but couldn't bring himself to apply.

We knew right away we had to share what we had learned, and our trouble skin (eczema, rosacea, dryness, psoriasis) friends and family starting reporting fantastic results too!

When you purchase a jar of Tallow NOW balm you are taking home a piece of local art!

Our labels were designed and created in collaboration with our beef farmer, who provided the story behind the grasses, and local botanical artist Ngaire Briggs located and created impression of the grasses on her land.

These impressions are featured on each label with the reminder of the most important time of you life - NOW. We have a dot in the middle of the O to provide this reminder - it represents our origin - pure consciousness, you in your pure, simple essence. A goal we have attempted to bring to our simple, pure products for use each day.
